Joey’s Package at the Mona Vale Library on Tuesday is part of the wonderful Guringai Festival had a fantastic display with a Didgeridoo show, face painting, song and dance, Aboriginal art making and storytelling for children. We had a wonderful time. T was most interested in exactly how the boomerang is used to hunt animals!

WildFlower Walk and Scavenger Hunt at Manly Dam

We went for a wild hike to explore the flowers and wild life at the Manly Dam!

We talked about animals that have been introduced, and native animals. Damage caused by the introduced animals. They then discussed amongst themselves what animals we were likely to see… No one thought we would see Bush Chooks! I took these 7 children that were very curious, and eager to find “something we had never noticed before”, along the banks and through the woods, looking at flowers, fungi and habitats. We discovered CLAY that someone had used to make a pinch pot! We sketched and snacked and finally had a play at the playground.

Love doing this. Gotta come up with some more challenging hunts!
